Cocoa: The cocoa tree is cultivated in most tropical countries as well as Africa and is native to South America. A positively gorgeous and fair-trade certified ingredient we use that helps prevent trans-
epidermal water loss while delivering vital nutrients and antioxidants to the skin, it is highly emollient
and leaves skin sublimely supple and soft.
Amlaki: A traditional Ayurvedic herb from India, amlaki, or amla, is a potent rejuvenative that nourishes the tissues and gently removes toxins. It has a cooling, anti-inflammatory effect on the body. Amlaki contains 20-30 times the amount of vitamin C found in oranges, and is a powerful antioxidant.
Ashwaganda: one of the most highly regarded and commonly used adaptogens in the Ayurvedic pharmacopoeia. Maximizing the body’s ability to resist stress, it enables the body to reserve and
sustain vital energy, nourishes skin and supports muscle tone, which may help to reduce the
appearance of wrinkles.
Coconut Milk: Highly aromatic, with the divine scent of fresh coconuts, coconut milk is highly moisturizing and beneficial to the skin, which is why we use it in many of our facial masques. Coconut milk contains a certain amount of coconut oil, which in turn contains monolaurins, which have been scientifically found to be very powerful antibacterial, antiviral and antifungal agents.
Kaolin Clay: The mildest of all clays and suitable for people with sensitive skin. It helps stimulate circulation to the skin while gently exfoliating and cleansing it. It does not draw oils from the skin, so it can also be used on dry skin types without negative results. Kaolin Clay is high in calcium, silica, zinc and magnesium, which are beneficial for oily, blemished skin. The clay’s mildly drying and disinfectant properties help heal existing blemishes and inflammations, while preventing new ones from forming.
